Awaiting order...

I couldn't resist on Dorothy Perkins Sale last week ;-( AGAIN! 20% off and since I was looking for something to wear on Christmas Eve at my boyfriends parents....perfect chance! ( It's good to always have an excuse for buying...especially when it's Sale ;-)).

So, I wanted to see if I could find a LBD - just a very simple one I can combine with knits like cardigans, jumpers or a blouse later for the office, like this one:

LBD from Dorothy Perkins

I think, you can never have enough cardigans since you can combine them to everything and make a Jeans and Shirt outfit perfect with it! So...went on clicking through the cardigans I found these beauties:

Cardigans from Dorothy Perkins

Aren't they cute? I'm so excited!

But not enough....I though I could need a blouse which is a bit longer...to combine with my leather pants since I don't like waering shorter shirts or jackets to this pant, but I don't want to wear always the same....so why not using 20% off this time!? Of course I found one...to be honest two...same blouse, different colour and why choose when you could definitely need more colour in your closet!

Blouses from Dorothy Perkins

Last but not least....at the moment I have a crush on golden necklaces although I prefer silver jewellery....queer! But I don't mind....I ordered a new one too! ;-)

Buying so many new stuff during the last weeks will motivate me hopefully to post some outfits photos finally?!

It Doesn't Matter If it's Black Or White....

Sometimes it matters and the best decision is "Black & White"!

Always in the mood for new shoes...;-), I recognized that I mostly buy black shoes. I have some brown ones too, a purple pair, blue heels, ballerinas in light blue, dark red and leo and some shoes in grey shades...but I wouldn't call my shoe rack colored! Time for a change!!!

So, I ogled at a pair of black and white Brogues from H&M.
pic via H&M
Then I thought flats maybe wouldn't be that good, because I think you cannot combine them to everthing, but that "Black & White" thing got me. Continuing my "Black & White" run, I found my new love! At Dorothy Perkins...whereelse?! I always find someting there....doesn't matter if it's black or white ;-).

Aren't they lovely?! And they are really comfortable, because the heel is just 8 cm high and it's not too slim. I love them. They look great with jeans or black straight pants, but really cute with a skirt or dress....everything goes with them!

Have a great day!

New in....

...a black fake fur vest from Romwe.

Fake Fur Vest from Romwe

After weeks on the run for the right fake fur gilet I finally found one and got it today...right in time before the holidays.
I don't know why it took me so long to find a vest that fits, but most of the ones I saw where simply too expensive, too short or the wrong color! I found this one quite a while ago, but honestly I wasn't so sure at first and thought I would find another one. After some weeks more without a result, I thought....wtf...you can send it back if it won't fit.

But I decided to keep it, because it has the perfect lenght, you can close it with little hooks and it's black...I'm sure I won't found a better one for this price (it was just $ 42.99).

Like it?

Christmas Glossybox....

...in really festive red!

Last Glossybox for this year...
Again it fits perfectly to my needs and I already packed the little things in my purse. Who doesn't need those things on the way?!

  • Creme 21 - Body Milk
  • LAVOLTA - Shéa Naturecream Soft
  • L'Oréal Paris Studio Secrets professional - Duo Lipgloss, which is perfect since I don't like and use lipsticks
  • L'Oréal Paris Studio Secrets professional - Make-up Stick...perfect compagnion for my purse since I use fluid make-up and don't like to carry the sponge with me
  • ZOEVA - Mineral Sheer Blush in Soft Romance which makes you look fresher instantly - I like ;-)
Perfect little compagnions for my Christmas travelling!

Feel good...Kusmi Detox Tea

Some weeks ago I felt terrible...somehow puffy and lazy and I just didn't felt good. And I read something about Detoxing and thought that maybe something like this would help to feel better. Perfect combination to order something you probably don't need and won't use ;-). Wouldn't be the first time, right?!

I read through the pages on detox delight, but what sounded really good, delicious and seemed to work....is just too much for my bank account! Paying so much money for just some pounds....?! NO, it's not that bad. Not yet!
So, I continued reading....detox cook book from Amazon....a lot cheaper for 20,00€, but do I wanna cook every day?! I'm not a cooking girl...really not and once a week would be ok, but not every day! So, let's go on....
Kusmi Tea Detox!!! That's it! Not too expensive, easy to handle everywhere and hopefully, I will feel better without enormous effort. Well, childish to believe that loosing pounds by just trinking tea would help, right?! But since my goal is not loosing weight, but too feel better and not puffy anymore...maybe this could help. ORDERED! RECEIVED!

pics via KUSMI TEA

Detox tea is Mate and Green tea, with lemon and lemon grass. Well, it's ok, but I wouldn't call it tasty!
I trink the tea for two weeks now. At least 3 cups every day! I don't know if this is ok or too less....?! Well, so far...I havn't lost weight, of course, but I feel better now! I don't know if this is really because of the tea,....but somehow I feel more lean, lighter...you know!?

Have you tried it yet? Or any other suggestions to feel better? (No sports pls. ;-))!

What to wear at the office Xmas party?

During the last four years, we had Christmas Parties at the company with a dress code: evening dress! What I really loved since I could buy a new dress and style up etc....what's not very often during the year. But this time we celebrated on a boat going along the river Rhine and dress code was: Casual ;-(.

Surprisingly, a lot of my colleagues havn't took that casual to serious and were dressed up anyway. Great!
I was thinking the week before what to wear, because "casual" is for me: Jeans and Shirt and I definitely wouldn't go to a Christmas party in jeans and shirt. Never! So I thought, maybe a simple black dress, maybe a dark blue skirt and black silk blouse, leather pant and white long silk shirt?!

The last minute, I decided to go with a white blouse, red shorts, black tights and black wedge booties!

What do you think? Too casual or does it fit? The boots look a bit too casual for this outfit on the pics, right?! But they are not as clumsy as they look on the pic!

Love,
K.

First Glossybox Style

Two weeks gone and no post....shame on me! But it's the same thing every year before before Christmas, bosses are thinking that work is the only thing you got to do and everything needs to be finished before the year ends. Although I'm sure that the tasks would be there after New Years Eve, too!

Anyway, today I found some time to write something and show you my first Glossybox Style. Fortunately, I ordered when they had "Order one get two"! Lucky me. So, I ordered a black bag, because I was looking for a simple, every day bag for some weeks already....and got on top new shoes...could there be more to let my heart smile ;-)?! And all for inexpressible 39,90 €...;-)

November Glossy Box

There it is again! The November Glossybox arrived...again when I wasn't at home, of course ;-( So, one day late for me.

Anyway, the samples reimburse me for waiting. Nearly everything fits perfectly.

I received:
  • Dr. Eckstein hydrating day cream Supreme
  • Dr. Scheller Calendula hand lotion (which is perfect to put it in the bag during the cold time)
  • Heidi Klum Shine
  • Kerastase Bain Oleo Relax (which I tried before and loved it)
  • Kryolan Shades
I love the shampoo, because my hair is normally so frizzy and dry- above all during winter time. The shades are in soft colors and fit perfectly in my palette. The only thing I don't like that much is the parfum from Heidi Klum. It's kind of too sweet for me, but that's a personal taste thing, I guess.

So, thanks to the Glossybox team once again! Also for my boyfriends Glossybox. He really liked it ;-).

Now, I'm waiting for my first Glossybox Style to arrive. Hopefully this week, too! Curious?! Me too!

Fashion icon meets Music icon

Last week I already saw a few minutes from this meeting of the giants! Lada Gaga meets Gaultier!

Now SIXX is showing the whole interview which lasted more than one hour. Jean Paul Gaultier will welcome Lady Gaga in his Parisian company headquarter. He designed a little room just for this interview with one of the biggest fashion AND music icons of the world. They meet never before! The more it surprises how honestly they talk about the Lady's past. The highlight is definitely, that Gaultier shows Lady Gaga his studio! Only a very few people are allowed to see it. And you'll see her speechless for at least some seconds...because of a Gaultier design, of course!

This is a very lovely interview, as far as I've seen it. And I'm really curious about the whole interview this evening. If you wanna take a look before:

Enjoy!

MARNI as next collaboration partner for the H&M spring collection

The Versace collection for H&M is still in stores and online, but a new collaboration is at the ready! This morning H&M announced that MARNI will design a collection for H&M in spring.

Marni?! Hm...not a label I expected to design for H&M, to be honest. But that doesn't mean that I don't like it. But for sure, there are more casual labels who could be considered.

What can we expect? Clothing and accessories with original prints, bright colors and signature fabrics. Consuelo Castiglioni, Founder and Creative Director stated:

“I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colours, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements”.

Women can expect full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knits. The fabrics will be from silk to crisp cotton poplin. Moreover, the collection will also include jewellery, shoes, bags and scarves. The Men's collection will be a bit more casual and softer.

I'm a bit restrained at the moment since I'm not sure what to expect from this collection. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Versace collection either and I have a similar feeling with this collection. Although I like Marni more, I think, the pieces won't be easy to combine and are not easy to wear. Different from the actual H&M collections.

But let's see what we get when the collection will hit the stores in March 2012! It will be available 260 store worldwide and online, of course. Have a deeper look into the collection in the video:

Do you think the choice fits?

I'm NOT a f**king princess

Appropriate to all the discussions about a models age, the staging of childrens bodies on pics and the forbidden ad from Dakota Fanning for Marc Jacobs (as reported on Fashionista e.g.), the movie "I'm NOT a f**king princess" was released some weeks ago. Some of you may have seen it already.

I havn't so far, but saw a tv report during the weekend about directress Eva Ionesco and the her story.

I'm NOT a f**king princess is about a mother-daughter-relationship and the staging of young girls as woman (or worse: as object of lust). Eva Ionesco shows how her own mother, who lived with her in Paris, used her as "muse" for her photographs which was fun for Eva at first, but soon became a nightmare for the little girl. Her mother forced her to dress and pose more revealingly until little Eva (Violetta in the movie) starts to rebel against her mother. Trying to create a better life for daughter and herself, photographer Hannah (Irina Ionesco in origin) uses her instead for more wealth and popularity without the thoughtfulness of Violettas feeling and life.

I guess, this movie won't start many discussions. Quite different from the current ads from Dakota Fanning, Hailey Steinfeld and tbc....I mean, don't get me wrong...I totally agree that children shouldn't be staged like women in sexy poses, too short skirts...blablabla...but where's the limit?! When is it ok and when too much?

Why is Marc Jacobs' ad banned and why are pictures from Lottie Moss (from Fashionista) or Hailey Steinfeld not?! What is age appropriate? Lottie Moss looks much older than 13 on the pictures and beautiful. And to be honest, I didn't think that the Dakota Fanning ad was kind of wrong before it was forbidden in UK. Honestly....I mean, she wears a dress and you don't see too much...! But anyway, clearly, this is to protect children and therefore a good sign. Let's hope that the movie and the ban of the Marc Jacobs ad will support that photographers and designers deliberate before doing the next campaign.

Shopping tip: ModCloth

On Tuesday I was looking for some boots using the ShopStyle app. Lucky me, I found some zebra flats I totally felt in love with (boots are overrated ;-)). Surprised that I've never heard the shop ModCloth before I visited the online shop immediately.

ModCloth that are: Susan and Eric Koger and Winston, the Pug ;-). Susan was always passionate about Vintage and finding special clothes, accessories and decor. After college she made a business out of her passion. Together with her boyfriend- now husband - she created a beautiful online store and now has nearly 250 employees in Pittsburgh, LA and San Francisco. What a fairytale! Read more here.

This passion you can still see in the shop. It still looks like if Susan would still do this litte shop by herself...so personal and cute. The range is just great. Lovely unique pieces in all departments. I could spend a fortune there.

My favorites are still these Happy to Zebra Flats.

Have a look and see yourself what beautiful cute little things you'll find ;-).

Family portrait...Otto Dix

Accidentally, I saw a portrait of Otto Dix, a well-known painter...especially in the area where I come from ;-). He was born in 1891 in the same town I was born in 1981 (funny ;-)) - in Gera (for sure, nearly nobody knows this little town) which is "Otto-Dix town", too.

His birthplace in Gera

Not only because of the same last name, but first of all he was a great painter who I really like, I don't want to keep back the video from ARTE about Otto Dix.

If you like you can also see it again in TV on:
  • Sunday, 20. November 2011, 06:00
    Monday, 21. November 2011, 11:20

What I like most about him is his sense about reality. He always found something beautiful in the most ugliest things and he always thought that you need to show the people how life really is. That's what he did! Sometimes in a cruel, but fantastic way. That's what fascinates me totally. You know when you think: Uhhh, this looks really, really nasty, but somehow you have to see what's going on in that picture. And than, it's just life which was cruel during his time, of course.
He painted a lot during the first and second world war. Showed the cruelties, wounded people or life with all its sceneries in Berlin...but the Nazi's declared his work as "degenerated art" and so he stepped back, went to the country, although he loved the city life and started to paint landscapes mostly. Sounds boring and unfortuntely the picture are not half as good as the "real" ones, I think - but still well worth seeing.

I saw two of his picture in the MoMa in New York City what made me somehow proud that I have the same last name...sounds stupid! Is stupid somehow! Anyway ;-).

And of course, there's an exhibition in Gera which is fantastic. If you ever have the chance...go there. And since the chance are small that you'll ever be in Gera ;-) try the MoMa in NYC or the Musée des Beaux Arts in Montreal. I've never been there, but heard it's brilliant too. Here is an overview where to find his paintings in museums.

I had to experience everything very precisely...
I am such a realist, you know, that I have to see everything with my own eyes. (1963)

    VersaCelebration

Colorful, glamorous, glittering...that's how the Versace celebration yesterday evening in New York must have been. Celebrities like Uma Thurman, Blake Lively, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Hudson and Selma Blair joined Donatella Versace and H&M to celebrate the launch of Versace for H&M in New York.

Donatella Versace and Margareta van den Bosch (creative director H&M) pic via H&M

    pics via H&M

Donatella Versace created an amazing show in typical Versace environment. On a golden paved catwalk models like Lindsay Wixson or Abbey Lee presented the glitzy outfits that will be in stores on November 17th...well-known already!

I admit that I was curious and exited when I heard first about the corporation between Versace and H&M. Maybe because I really like the previous collections from designers like Lanvin, Matthew Williamson or Karl Lagerfeld for H&M. BUT...when I first saw some pics from the collection I was - yes, I need to say it like this - a bit disappointed! I don't know why really. I mean, I know that Versace isn't my style and why thought I that the collection for H&M would be different and for me too?!

    pics via H&M

Nevertheless, I spotted a few pieces I try to snatch. But for sure, I won't sit in front of my pc early in the morning like I did the last time. Here's what I think to buy:

Can you wear cord pants in the office?

Years ago I wore cord pants! I had brown and dark green ones in really wide cord (during that time I adored Nirvana and wore only clothes that looked shabby enough). I also had a purple baby cord pant, but unfortunately, I'm a time-limited pack rat when it comes to fashion. I stock pieces for years and then...from one minute to the other I need to clear out my wardrobe! And always....really always I give or toss away pieces I'll miss some time later. And of course I didn't stock my cord pants - boo-hoo ;-(.

So, I need to buy a new cord pant now, but I'm still not sure what color. I already decided for a skinny one. There are so many really great colors, but do they go with an office outfit?! Maybe I should go with a dark color though?!

So, here's my choice so far:

I think, I can combine them (all ;-)) perfectly with my new shoes I bought recently:
    via H&M
    via Topshop

    via H&M

and then add a silky blouse like those:
    via Mango
and to top off add a Tuxedo like this:

    via Dorothy Perkins

I guess that works! Maybe not for official meetings, but on a day without appointments or on casual Friday's! Perfectly fine with me!

What do you think? Does cord go for the office?

    My week with Marilyn...or Michelle?!

Few weeks ago I saw the trailer for Michelle William's new movie "My week with Marilyn" and I can't wait till it will be in the theatres in Germany.

As you already know, I'm a big fan of Michelle Williams and I totally think that she'll be the perfect to play Marilyn Monroe...and she already showed in October Vogue US how Marilyn-like she can be. To be honest, I think, Michelle doesn't only appear outwardly like her. It seems that she has also the elegance, the vulnerability and the sensitivity of a Marilyn Monroe - at least it seems like that!

    So, see for yourself!

Release date for US is November 23rd 2011. Other release dates can be seen here. Unfortunately, it's not announced yet when it will be in German theatres ;-(. Hopefully soon!

    I want yellow knit

I saw this perfect sweater from United Colors of Benetton in Grazia and I felt in love. Unfortunatly, United Colors of Benetton has no online shop. So, I called 3 stores I know, but they don't have it ;-(.

During the last years United Colors of Benetton lost their presence in the fashion market after they were well-known for their controversial advertising in the 90's. I really liked their clothes during that time, but lost sight after a while. Only last year, I bought a really nice red duffle coat and a cozy long cardigan from United Colors of Benetton.

Now, I have one option left to buy that lovely piece and I will try to catch it on Friday. So cross your fingers!

Any idea where to buy United Colors of Benetton online?! Let me know.

    October Glossy Box

All good things are 3...so here it is: Glossy Box #3 (for me) in October - dedicated to the topic "Care". And I need to say that this box is the best ever! All samples are totally perfect.

    I received:
    • Kaloderma: Age Balance Cream (can't be wrong at my age, right? ;-))
    • L'Oréal Professional: Absolut Repair Cellular (I'm crazy about L'Oréal hair products)
    • Misslyn: Sweet Lips (I love this gloss)
    • Moroccanoil: Oil treatment (I usally use L'Oréal oil, but I always wanted to try this...so, I'm really happy to have a sample now)
    • OPI Nail Lacquer: I love OPI polishes and since you can't buy them everywhere here (have to order online), I love this one and I totally like the color - perfect for every occasion.
As a little gift or advice, there's a beauty receipe from the US inside for a pumpkin poultice in it. I'm sure I'll try it when it got colder outside on a cozy sunday!

Hope you had a perfect glossy box, too?!

    Have a nice weekend.

      Heat up your wardrobe...

Although I ordered already some fall pieces like new shoes, a parka, shorts and so on...I forgot to look for a fuax fur vest. This is also something I always wanted to buy, but never did for whatever reason. So, I found some really nice pieces and some of them are really affordable. Now the question: Which one to take?! ;-)

Rooney Mara - a beautiful chameleon

I think, she is one of the most convertible women I have ever seen. Sometimes she looks so beautiful, sometimes fragile, girly or very strong and elegant and sometimes a bit wasted...always depends on the role she is playing. That's amazing!

      Pics via Vogue and IMDB

During the last years, I didn't really paid attention to her - to be honest. But I really like her playing in "The Social Network" and now I was really surprised to see her on US Vogue cover for November.

      Pic via Vogue

Her photos for Vogue US are incredible. She looks so strong and though. Maybe a bit too hard, but at the same time so elegant and feminine that you just don't know what to think at first sight. Amazing! See more pics here on Vogue.com.

      Pics via Vogue

Moreover, I'm so excited and looking forward to January when David Fincher's movie "The girl with the dragon tattoo" will be in the theatres. I loved the book and unfortunately I missed the first swedish movie version, so I will definitely be in the theatre when Rooney fights as Lizbeth Salander. Check out the trailer here:

      BLONDE magazine

I spend little fortunes in magazines every months. Normally, I buy all magazines I like and normally I've read them on a weekend. But due to a lack of time at the moment I a bit behind the schedule...anyway!
Nevertheless, I wanted to show you the BLONDE magazine this time. One of my fav mags, because the photo series are brilliant!

Issue # 4 is keeping with the motto: I am a Dreamer!

So, there's a lovely interview with Kat Frankie who is talking about her dreams, an outer space Color-Blocking photo series and a really dreamy Ethno-Style shoot on the fairground with Helen. I liked the article about the new Istanbul the most. It shows that this exiting city combines all the best of Europe and Asia at the same time. Istanbul's designers are amazing!

Moreover BLONDE visited Ulrika Lundgren. The Rika designer showed BLONDE her apartment in Amsterdam.

      Sweet dreams.
