In love with/ Claire Danes & the Burberry Prorsum trench

I'm sure you have already seen the current Vogue cover for August, right? I'm always a little late, because the monthly issue is always a little late here in Germany. But lucky me, I had a look on my iPad Vogue this morning and saw the new issue and this beautiful cover. 

Claire Danes looks amazing! As an old fan of Claire Danes (I loved her in My so called life) I'm really happy to see her again. Of course, she wasn't really gone, but honestly...I wasn't a big fan of her last movies. But she is back with Homeland which is one of my favorite series, at all. 

Besides Claire who looks gorgeous on the cover, I suddenly recognized this stunning trench coat she is wearing. Total wanna have piece!

Of course, there's no trench coat on the Vogue cover I could afford :-). It's Burberry Prorsum!!! No need to mention the price, right?! But still, it looks so amazing!

PRESHOPP – The fashion search engine

For some weeks it was a well kept secret within bloggers and I’m sure some of you may have heard or even tested it already – PRESHOPP has launched.

Adieu Google Reader - Hello Bloglovin!

Just one week left till we need to say Goodbye to Google Reader. As a really frequent user of GR, I was really sad about the news that they will shut it down. But however, blog life goes on and I tried to find good alternatives since some weeks. 

First Reader that came to my mind was of course BLOGLOVIN, since I already use it as blogger and reader. Above all on my iPhone and iPad.   

When you are new to Bloglovin, you can sign up and then go to:

http://www.bloglovin.com/import/reader

Here you can import all your blogs you've read via Google Reader before. So nothing gets lost! 

If you wanna read a post, you click on the link and you'll be directed to the homepage - this will count as a page view. What is really great for all bloggers. Moreover you can then comment, share and also like the post - all within Bloglovin! Isn't this great? One reader for everything! 

For me it's the best alternative to Google Reader. Have you found another one? Let me know!

Vegan Recipe: Mini crunchy pancakes with raspberry yogurt ice cream

As I may have already read in my last post, I started a 30 day challenge "Vegan for Fit". 

My first day started with a very delicious breakfast "Mini crunchy pancakes with raspberry yogurt ice cream". It was so yummy, I just wanted to share it with you. 

For two servings you need: 

The batter:

• 60 g whole wheat flour
• 140 ml soy milk
• 20 g agave syrup
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• a pinch sea salt
• 1/2 tsp. ground vanilla
• 30 g Amaranth (not the grain, but the popped one)

The ice cream:

• 150 g frozen raspberries
• 30 g agave syrup
• 80 g soy yogurt

Add:

• 2 bananas
• 200 g fresh raspberries
• little walnut oil
• little agave syrup

all ingredients, only the soy milk is missing

1. Mix all ingredients for the batter, except the Amaranth. Whisk until it is smooth.
2. Mix the Amaranth into the batter.

3. Put a little walnut oil to the pan.
4. 2 tbsp. per pancake and bake 4 minutes per side on mid heat.

5. Put all ingredients for the ice cream in a mixer. Use really frozen berries. Otherwise it'll look like on my pics since my berries were a little unfrozen already.

6. Slice the bananas and wash the raspberries.

7. At last, staple the pancakes, raspberries and bananas like you see in the pic and top it with the ice cream and little agave syrup.
8. Enjoy!

My ice cream was more cream then ice, but yummy any way :-)

Already hungry again when I see the pics. Guess this will be my new favorite weekend breakfast.

Grace: A memoir

I have to confess that I belong to those who have heard only little about Grace Coddington until I saw "The September Issue". That's a shame, I know, but true! But better late then never, I honestly liked her "role" in the documentary and got interested in her like many others did too. 

The more I was happy when I heard that she publishes her memoires. Although I wondered a little why she is doing that at her age?! Nevertheless, now we all have the chance and luck to get to know her little better. So, I received my copy on Tuesday and even if I don't have a signed copy like Hedvig from Northern Light has (I'm only a little jealous ;-)), I couldn't wait starting to read. 

The book is full of beautiful pictures during the years! When I got it, I just flipped through to just look at them without reading, because I was so curious :-) 

I have read the first three chapters now and for sure will finish it during the weekend. A chapter for chapters in her life or (special) people in her life...about Anna too...;-) Let's see what she will write about her....at least she is one of kind who not always agrees with Anna Wintour...so could be interesing!

A little nuts when it comes to SATC...

Actually I'm no "girlie" in the proper sense...but there's one thing when the chick's coming out...Sex and the City! I can hear the "Oh No's" now ;-) and I know that a lot of others girls love SATC too.

From the very first beginning I just loved this series. I love the girls/ women, Patricia Field, Michael Patrick King, New York, Mr. Big ...everything that come with it. No need to say that I have all DVD, all books from to the movies, the novels and I store all magazine articles...(as a magazine junkie no big deal).

Today I got a little piece I found some weeks ago on Ebay. It is a supplement of a Japan Vogue from some years ago. Only 50 pages and I can't read a word, but I don't care, because the pictures are so beautiful...

Some weeks ago you could already subscribe to the Journelles newsletter for not missing the start...well, I missed it this morning after all :-(.

Jessica Weiß, the ultimate LesMads girl, is back with her blogzine "Journelles" after she had left LesMads and worked @Interview for a year. With a great backup of 4 lovely authors, like Kerstin Görling from Hayashi, Journelles will provide us with news, background stories and lots of lovely stuff about fashion and beauty.

Well, I guess there's nothing more to say....see it for yourself here. I'm happy about Jessie's return and I wish good luck and fun to her and the team.

Vogue September issue 2012 - Lady Gaga cover

That Lady Gaga will be on US Vogue's cover for the September issue this year was already published some weeks ago. Now the cover was revealed:

Photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott she presents herself really like a Lady and not Gaga...I really like these pictures so far and I'm excited for the series in Vogue.

Unfortunately, I have to wait a little longer to hold the biggest US Vogue (with 916 pages!) issue in my hands since the shipping from US takes a while ;-(. Anyway...it's worth to wait!

CLOSER - Scott Schumann

The Sartorialist's 2nd book is out now - CLOSER - and I can't wait to hold it in my hands. 

I love those illustrated books as you may know ;-). They are always such an inspiration and it really brings me down after work to just leaf through...it's a litte relief somehow! 

This is one of the few things take make me really turn myself off...I could spend day and night sighting books, magazines, photo books etc. 

And of course, I love the first Scott Schumann book and so it wasn't a questions to order this one, too.

There's also a Special Edition of the CLOSER! which is not available via Amazon at the moment. I'd love to buy this one, but since it's a bit more expensive, I guess I have to wait for Christmas ;-).

Reading/ 25 years of FASHION NOW

My little Fashion/ Designer lexicon....FASHION Now 25 Years!

Actually, this book is not new - there were already publications from Terry Jones before. The UK-magazine i-D summarized the greatest designer and the coolest newcomers of the fashion scene. This book is kind of a lexicon which gives a perfect overview - short biographies of designers in German, English and French and also respective pictures from great photographers from collections and catwalks. 

You read and learn ;-).

Magazine Watch: Qvest, Tush & Oblique

I'm a magazine junkie...I admit! I just can't pass any kiosk or book/ magzine store without buying any. I don't know how much money I already spent on magazine and really a lot of them I store under my bed....uhhhh!

So, here are three of my favorite mags during the last days....

Qvest #51, Tush #2/2012, Oblique #1

Qvest #51: Sommer issue
This is always a great magazine for inspiration. The mag always has amazing photo series and interesting protraits of models, photographers...just impressing people. The summer issue contains all of it, too. An interview with model and photographer Marianna Rother, the highlights of the summer collections and an interior special.

Tush #2/ 2012:
Armin Morbach's magazine is published four times a year since 2005 already. The mag always with impresses with trends and news when it comes to lifestyle, beauty and fashion. Issue #2/ 2012 is again full with unique photos series, cultural tips and exciting trends and news.

Oblique #1: 
This is the first issue of the new Berlin magazin for style questions. I found it by chance and it caught my eye just it has "BREAK-UPS" in big letters on the cover - not a very common theme for a first issue. But this is "Oblique". The authors look at break-ups from different point of views and guess what?! Break-ups don't need to be bad necessarily :-). jk! Oblique doesn't really captivates me, because of the photo series like other magazines, but I really like the way of writing and the somehow different way of dealing with themes. AND it comes in German & English in one mag.

Berlin NOW - an exciting perspective

As I already mentioned, I auctioned the book Berlin NOW from iheart Berlin last year during Bloggers against AIDS.

I had the book already on my wishlist since I love illustrated books and BERLIN ;-). So much the more, I was happy purchasing the book and doing a good thing.

The illustrations combine the old and the new Berlin. Dagmar von Taube gives an exciting view on Berlins history. Especially while using personalities to show their Berlin view. It's a really great book and an amazing view on Berlin!
